A nationally-recognized human services agency has offered supportive programs to Chicago’s most
disadvantaged and vulnerable residents for 40 years and provides services to over 7,000 people
annually. Specializes in providing assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and also
serves individuals with mental illness and substance abuse challenges, youth and families at risk,
veterans, seniors, ex-offenders, the homeless and those who are unemployed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reporting directly to the President/CEO, plan, direct, control and, safeguard the fiscal services of the
agency.
POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES:
➢ Develops and maintains systems and procedures for agency financial operations, exercising
independent judgment in conformity with organization policy and goals.
➢ Supervises the preparation of financial statements and submits these to administration, Board of
Directors, required governmental agencies and other funding entities.
➢ Assists in the preparation and development of budgets.
➢ Studies and advises the President/CEO on the total operation of the agency to determine
financial requirements.
➢ Maintains liaison with Treasurer or Finance Committee of the Board.
➢ Except for those administered by the Director of Human Resources, administers all other
insurance programs and recommends insurance requirements and policies which meet both staff
and budget needs.
➢ Provides any and all reports as mandated by funding sources.
➢ Provides information, data and participate in the long-range planning of the agency.
➢ Engages in special projects at the direction of the President/CEO.
➢ Assist with IT system wide implementation and data analytics to inform operational efficiency and
compliance with key mandates
QUALIFICATIONS:
▪ Must possess a Master's degree in Business Administration with concentration in accounting.
CPA preferred.
▪ Minimum five (5) years account/auditing experience in a computerized accounting environment.
Two (2) years supervisory experience is required.
▪ Must possess strong supervisory and analytical skills. Must have knowledge of Computers and
finance software.
▪ Specific experience with financial oversight of Behavioral Health & Human Services (e.g.
Medicaid, Medicare, Value-Based payments, etc.) is preferred. Provides relevant insight and
advice relative to property management, sale and/or acquisition. Further insures compliance with
all relevant social entrepreneurial efforts.
COMPENSATION:
Base salary based on current level of compensation and experience. Bonus program and full benefit
package.
